How to attach user details to feedback with setUser()

Updated Oct 6, 2026

Call IteratoService.setUser() with any key-value pairs about the current user. Every feedback response after that carries this context, so you can see which plan, segment or customer said what.

Example

IteratoService.setUser({
  uid: "User12617246148791",
  userName: "John",
  userEmail: "john@email.com",
  plan: "Premium",
  Features: ["Live Streaming", "Video Uploads"]
});

It returns true when the user object is set successfully.

When to call it

  • Right after init() resolves, once you know who is logged in

  • Again whenever the user's plan or key attributes change

What to include

  • A stable internal user ID, so you can join feedback with your own data

  • Plan or tier, so you can compare free and paid users

  • Feature flags or cohorts you are experimenting with

Only send what you need. Avoid passwords, payment details or other sensitive data.
